By public transportation: There is no public transportation directly to Sugar Maples Center for Creative Arts. However, you can take a bus to Hunter and then arrange an Uber or taxi to the center. The bus leaves from the Port Authority Bus Terminal in NYC. The ride takes about 2 hours and 45 minutes.

Except for a $100 administration fee and the $40 registration fee, all fees are refundable if notice of cancellation is received at least three weeks (21 days) prior to the start of the class. No refunds will be made after that date due to contractual obligations, material acquisitions, faculty travel agreements, etc. If cancellation occurs three weeks before the class starts, monies may be applied to another class within 12 months (1 year). A $35 non-refundable transfer fee will be charged at the time of the transfer. No refund or discount will be given if a student withdraws after a workshop begins.

Sugar Maples reserves the right to cancel a workshop due to low enrollment or an emergency. If a cancellation should occur, students will be notified and will have the option of taking another class (within a 12-month period) or can chose to receive a full refund. This includes tuition, lab fees, and on-campus lodging. Sugar Maples cannot be responsible for any airline or other travel ticket refund.

Sugar Maples reserves the right to change or replace an instructor in the event of an emergency or unforeseen circumstances.

Catskill Mountain Foundation and Sugar Maples Center for Creative Arts value our students and strive to provide flexible options when unforeseen circumstances prevent participation in a registered workshop. This policy outlines the guidelines for utilizing workshop credits issued to students who were unable to attend a previously registered workshop.

Eligibility for Workshop Credits:
Workshop credits are issued at the discretion of Sugar Maples Center for Creative Arts in situations where a student is unable to attend a registered workshop due to extenuating circumstances or cancellation by the institution.

These circumstances may include, but are not limited to, documented illness, family emergencies, or other unavoidable conflicts.

This credit policy is not related to our refund policy. Credit towards future workshops can only be used when a student cancels BEFORE the refund period [21 days before workshop] has begun.

Credit Value and Usage:
The credit issued will be equal to the amount paid for the original workshop.

Workshop credits can be applied towards the registration fee of any future workshop offered at Sugar Maples Center for Creative Arts.

Credits cannot be used for accommodation costs, or any other expenses beyond the workshop registration fee.

The amount you paid for Tuition, Lab Fee, and Registration Fee can be applied to the costs of a future workshop. If the new workshop is more expensive than the credit, the student will be responsible for paying the difference. If the new workshop is less expensive than the credit, the remaining credit balance will be forfeited.

Credit Validity:
Workshop credits are valid for a period of 12 months from the date of the originally registered workshop.

Students must register for and complete a workshop within this 12-month period to utilize their credit.

Expired credits will be forfeited and cannot be reinstated.

Registration Process Using Workshop Credits:
To utilize a workshop credit, students must contact CMF Administration at the Catskill Mountain Foundation registration office at 518-263-2001.

Students must provide their name, the date of the original workshop for which the credit was issued, and the title of the desired workshop.

The registration office will verify the credit and provide instructions for completing the registration process.

Limitations:
Workshop credits cannot be redeemed for cash refunds.

Workshop credits cannot be combined with other discounts or promotions unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Catskill Mountain Foundation reserves the right to modify or terminate this policy at any time without prior notice.

Transfers are permitted from one workshop to another within the season, space permitting. To transfer, you must notify Sugar Maples at least three weeks (21 days) prior to the start of your class. Sugar Maples Center for Creative Arts does not currently have a cafeteria on-site. However, There is a vibrant restaurant and coffee scene less than 4 miles from campus. You can also bring your own food and drinks to the center. During summer workshops, lunches can be ordered and are delivered to your studio.

Yes. Weekly classes are offered in Ceramics, Painting, Drawing, Fibers, and Youth from early October to the end of April in During the summer season, weekly classes are offered in Ceramics and Fibers.

We are sorry, no pets allowed.

Limited Campus Housing is available in our Sherwood House. This 14-bedroom house (each room has a private bath), offers a communal kitchen and living room. $100 + tax per room, per night, based on one or two in a room. Students must call (518) 263-2001 or e-mail CMF Administration at administration@catskillmtn.org to reserve a room.

On- Campus Lodging Cancellation Policy
If Sugar Maples must cancel a course, and a room is reserved, there is no cancellation fee. If a student cancels less than 2-weeks prior to arrival a $35 fee will be charged for the cancellation of housing.

Yes. Please notify our office if a room on the ground floor is required.

Sugar Maples Center for Creative Arts does not offer refunds for lodging booked outside of our Center. This includes lodging booked through third-party websites or directly with hotels or other lodging providers. If you need to cancel your lodging reservation, you will need to contact the lodging provider directly to inquire about their cancellation policy.
