SATURDAY, MAY 18
On Saturday the festival will host a Harley Davidson Kickoff Motorcycle Ride hosted by Bill Nugent from Woodstock Harley Davidson in Kingston and producer Giancarlo Lorusso. Watch what it was like to participate in the very first cross country motorcycle ride in the movie, White Knuckle: The Story of the Motorcycle Cannonball, through the eyes of Producer Brian Darwas. As he followed and recorded three riders for the inaugural 2010 ride, it became clear that this was not just another ride across the country. Bill Nugent was one of those three participants that Brian captured in real time. Bill will lead a scenic ride from Woodstock Harley to Hunter: part of the ride will retrace the path of the 1908 FAM Catskill Endurance Run which put Harley on the map. Motorcycles of all types and years are invited to participate in this scenic homage to those 100 year old machines, and their riders today. Coffee and donuts will be offered at Woodstock Harley the morning of the ride, ‘kickstands up’ at approximately 11:30 for a 1-1/2 ride to the Doctorow Center for the Arts in Hunter, NY. Vintage riding outfits are encouraged!
Bikers will marvel at the beauty of the Catskills as they ride from Woodstock Harley Davidson up the winding hills, making their way to the film festival venue where they will have the opportunity to view the films Walters Ride: The True Harley Davidson Story at 1:00 pm and White Knuckle at 1:30 pm. After a Q&A from the movie, join us for a Meet and Greet at 3:00 pm with this year’s Rising Star Award recipient, Orange is the New Black star Hunter Emery.
GALA AWARDS CEREMONY
The festival will culminate with the First Annual Hunter Mountain Film Festival Gala Awards, held Kaatskill Mountain Club at Hunter Mountain Ski Resort on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 8pm. Anthoula Katsimatides, (CBS’s FBI & Producer of the documentary, Olympia), will be this year’s Master of Ceremonies, with a performance by musical artist, Jared Dylan. The awards dinner will honor filmmakers with The Peacock Awards for Best Feature Film, Short Film, Documentary, Web Series, and Student Film as well as best Actor and Actress and Director. The Gala will also honor an industry professional with the HMFF Rising Star Award.
