Tabea and Daniel Streicher, Music by Mozart, Adams & Liszt

Orphee Musique brings young classical musicians to New York each year to perform 7 concerts in 7 days. This is a special opportunity for these recent Paris Conservatory graduates to get experience performing in concert halls, speaking English, and interacting with audiences in the U.S.

The artists performing this year are Tabea and Daniel Streicher, a brother and sister duo. Tabea and Daniel Streicher began their shared musical life back in 2009, when years of making music as a duo transferred the blind understanding of two siblings to music. Shortly after their first attempts at playing together, the young piano duo, then aged five and seven respectively, took part in the 2010 International Steinway Piano Competition in Berlin and won the third prize. The early appreciation and shared joy of music sealed the ensemble’s continued existence. In addition to their solo repertoire, the two artists are constantly expanding their duo repertoire and perform regularly, while their passion for the ensemble and the quality of their collaboration grows with every project.

This program includes W.A. Mozart, Sonata for 2 pianos in D major, K 448; ⁠John Adams, Hallelujah Junction for 2 pianos (1995); and Franz Liszt: Réminiscences of Don Juan for 2 pianos, S.656.
