Celebrating the Catskill Mountain Foundation’s 25th Anniversary

“Great art picks up where nature ends.”
– Marc Chagall
Three dancers in The Nutcracker

CMF is proud to produce over 100 events this year…

As a celebration of our 25th anniversary, CMF is proud to partner with organizations such as the Joyce Theater and with Works & Process at the Guggenheim, Catskill Mountain Shakespeare, Lviv Philharmonic Orchestra, Cécile McLorin Salvant and The New York City Ballet. CMF is proud to bring the best of the arts to the Mountaintop.

In 2023 we will celebrate the Catskill Mountain Foundation’s 25th anniversary.

We will present approximately 70 performances as part of the celebration. Enclosed is an overview of our 2023 performing arts schedule. It is by far our most ambitious season ever.

We are proud to celebrate our anniversary with our most ambitious season yet. Pre-Covid, CMF was proud to produce roughly 25 events per year. This year, we are ambitiously taking on over 100 events, with ticket sales better than ever! Classical music and dance that you know and love is the backbone of the programming, with incredible fine arts classes at Sugar Maples Arts Center, community theater through Maude Adams Theater Hub and new and exciting performances by Cecile McLorin Salvant, Bernie Williams, Hunter International Music Festival and more!

Maude Adams Theater Hub

Maude Adams Theater Hub (MATH) was launched at the end of 2022, and is celebrating its first full season. MATH brings together community theater and the support of the Catskill Mountain Foundation to produce outstanding performances targeted to the Mountaintop community all year long!

Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) grant

We are proud to announce that New York State announced that Tannersville will receive a $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) grant. The Catskill Mountain Foundation submitted a $3.5MM project for the Orpheum to install state-of-the-art theatrical equipment and to build two new dance studios adjacent to the Orpheum. The decision on which projects will be funded out of this grant will be announced shortly, and we are on the edge of our seat as we wait. We have already secured the $1.75 million match required for the DRI grant.

Dance residencies at the Orpheum

Through our partnerships with the Joyce Theater and with Works & Process at the Guggenheim, we are hosting a series of two-week dance residencies at the Orpheum. The addition of the dance studios will make it possible for us to continue to host these residencies while presenting performances at the Orpheum at the same time, and also to expand the Orpheum Dance Program Community Classes that we are now running from the Red Barn in the Village of Hunter. MATH is also looking forward to having access to the new studios to use for rehearsals.

Get involved

Your ongoing support is important and helps us continue to bring the arts to our Mountaintop community. We hope that you will include the Catskill Mountain Foundation in your end-of-year giving.
