Orchard Project
The Orchard Project is a theater arts collective in-residence at the Catskill Mountain Foundation that provides the theatre community with a much needed resource and development center - a space for company sponsored artists to experiment and explore new ideas, as well as collaborate with other theatre companies. With a focus on helping to develop the work and identities of theatre companies, artists are supported through overlapping residencies during which time they are provided with rehearsal space, room and board. Participants range from emerging "on-the-cusp" companies to established leaders and may return year after year or as one-time residents. Each summer, the Orchard Project selects artists and staff from eight companies, who collaborate on creative projects and share their combined knowledge on how to succeed in today's highly competitive theatrical marketplace. Works-in-progress are open to the public in various locations operated by the Catskill Mountain Foundation in Hunter and Windham, NY.
