Catskill Mountain Foundation hosts Pianists in the Mountains from August 22-28, 2022. This unique one-week residency, led by world-renowned pianists and educators, Dr. Joanne Polk and Dr. Inesa Sinkevych, will focus on unusual repertoire for the piano. Evening activities will include lectures and recitals. Lecture topics include learning to practice more efficiently, tools for memorization, and the role of imagination in musical performance.
Performances at the Doctorow Center for the Arts: Monday, August 22 at 7:30 PM, Lecture by Dr. Jeffrey Langford on Clara and Robert Schumann; Tuesday, August 23 at 7:30 PM, Two-piano recital by Joanne Polk and Inesa Sinkevych, Pieces by Saint Saēns, Stravinsky, Amy Beach and Lutoslawski. Tickets are $25. Nightly student recitals at the Doctorow Center for the Arts on Wednesday through Saturday, August 24-27 at 7:30 PM are free.
