“Decades down the line he will be spoken of as one of the greats.”
—All Things Considered. National Public Radio
“The pianist Shai Wosner again proves himself a fine Schubertian with a gorgeously phrased and soulful interpretation ... that traverses the full palette of intimacy and power.”
—The New York Times
Described as a "Schubertian of unfaltering authority and character" by Gramophone, Mr. Wosner launches a new solo recital series this season, Schubert: The Great Sonatas, which focuses on the composer's last six piano sonatas. Schubert’s last six sonatas are not only the culmination of his piano works but also some of the most profound essays in all of music. They mold their own category while grand in scale like symphonies for the piano, they also contain some of the most intimate music Schubert ever wrote.
Pianist Shai Wosner has attracted international recognition for his exceptional artistry, musical integrity, and insightful performances of a broad repertoire-from Beethoven and Schubert to the music of today. He is a recipient of Lincoln Center's Martin E. Segal Award, an Avery Fisher Career Grant, and a Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award.
