Lecture-Concert with Robert Levin: Ornamentation and Improvisation in Mozart's Keyboard Music
DOCTOROW CENTER FOR THE ARTS, VILLAGE OF HUNTER, NY
A lecture-performance exploring extempore ornamentation in Mozart’s keyboard music. Mr. Levin will explain the historical basis for the practice of performers adding ornaments to Mozart’s music, illustrating this practice through his perforning of selected Mozart sonata movements, a performance of one of Mozart’s complete sonatas and his completion of one of Mozart’s unfinished sonata fragments.

A Tribute to Jacques d'Amboise

For seven decades, dance icon and New York City Ballet principal dancer Jacques d’Amboise called Hunter home. He served on the board of the Catskill Mountain Foundation and each summer the National Dance Institute, an organization he founded, came to the Orpheum Performing Arts Center providing educational programs enriching the lives of so many young people in our community. On Sunday, July 9, the Catskill Mountain Foundation in partnership with Works & Process pays tribute to this dance legend and beloved community member with a program featuring stars from New York City Ballet.

American String Quartet

Tolkien, in No Strings Marionette Company's adaptation of this stirring adventure fantasy, puppeteers adeptly animate marionettes, life-size body puppets and amazing puppet hybrids.

Dublin – the ancient city of pubs, pints, and castles. Wandering bards and musicians have traveled the road to Dublin for centuries. In this new program from Jeannette Sorrell, haunting ballads and legends give way to driving reels, as Celtic fiddlers set sparks flying. Irish singer Fiona Gillespie joins the merry instrumentalists on fiddles, flute, cello, hammered dulcimer, plucked instruments, and harpsichord.

Once Upon a Time
