We are looking forward to this summer’s benefit party, which will take place on Saturday July 9th at the Orpheum Performing Arts Center in Tannersville. We are eager to reconnect. We hope that you will join us as a Benefactor and help the Catskill Mountain Foundation continue our programs that are enjoyed by so many residents, visitors, and children in our community. If you make a commitment by June 8, your name will be included in the gala program, and for any donation of $1,000 or more we are again offering the opportunity to name a seat at the Orpheum.

Viennese Masters and Ukrainian Dreams: Fortepiano Music from the 18th and 19th Centuries

The renowned faculty of the Academy of Fortepiano Performance will present a diverse program of music played on historical pianos from the Catskill Mountain Foundation Piano Performance Museum, Steven E. Greenstein collection. The sound world of the Viennese masters like Mozart and Schubert is recreated as the music is performed on the instruments of their time. Viennese influence stretched to the cultural life of Ukraine, as will be heard in the music of Ukrainian composers Dmitri Bortnianskij and Mykola Lysenko.

National Dance Institute (NDI), founded by Jacques d’Amboise, brings its award-winning dance program to the Catskill Mountain Region, with a two-week residency for children entering 4th through 8th grades. Under the Artistic Direction of NDI choreographer Dufftin Garcia, the children will participate in high energy dance classes and choreography workshops, culminating in a performance on stage at the Orpheum. Colorful banners created over the many years of our collaboration will provide a backdrop for the performance.
