Animals Go TactileWorkshop
In this 5-day hands on workshop, we will investigate the chance events that occur when altering forms and surfaces thrown fresh off the wheel. Daily class exercises will allow us to playfully explore Zoomorphic shapes and their humble abodes in both functional and sculptural solutions. Using techniques such as folding, bottomless cylinders, and pushing the clay, we will concentrate on the relationship between line and volume. Students will create a place setting and special use pots. Bernadette will share her ideas on drawing and painting with colored slips and sigs in preparation for a final cone 6 glaze firing. Historical and contemporary images of animal forms will be viewed daily along with lively discussions. |
