SUGAR MAPLES

The Basics and Beyond (Summer Session)

Weekly Class

Note: This course has been offered in the past and is provided for informational purposes only.

The Basics and Beyond (Summer Session)

This weekly class will focus on techniques for learning to throw functional pots on the potter's wheel. Students will be taught on their own level and class projects will be encouraged. Different types of surface treatment will be taught as well as slip decoration, trimming, glazing and finishing. Altering techniques to make oval or square forms will also be covered. All weekly students have access to the Ceramics Studio and its many potter's wheels during Open Studio hours, which will be posted at the start of class. This freedom and accessibility gives students the ability to work on a number of projects throughout the course of the summer. Beginners as well as those with experience are welcome.
