About the Market

The Catskill Mountain Foundation Farm carries conventional beautiful farm produce from Story Farm and Gil Farm as well as a variety of organic fruits, vegetables, milk and eggs as well as other quality groceries.

The Market also offers a selection of health food products catering to special dietary needs (such as gluten-free, dairy free, vegan, vegetarian). We offer an increasing number of items produced in the Catskill region, highlighting the variety and quality of our region's products.

The Farm Market serves as an outlet for the produce we grow on our farm. Food grown on our farm and sold at our market is the freshest food you can buy. We harvest and deliver produce to the market frequently each week. Because of the season-extending techniques in use on the farm, we have produce from the farm from March through December. In the summer we offer a wide variety of heirloom vegetables (peas, tomatoes, cucumbers, beans, squash) and fresh herbs. We offer our own Farm Greens Salad Mix from April through December, as well as a variety of healthful sprouts (sunflower, buckwheat, mung, broccoli) from March through December. Everything we grow on our own farm is clearly identified at the market. Stop by and ask what is fresh from our farm. The Farm Market also serves as an outlet for other farms in the region.

Some of the local farms and food producers whose products we carry are:

  • Bohringer's Fruit Farm: Local fruits and berries
  • Barber's Farm: Low Spray Corn & produce
  • Brovetto Farm: Gourmet Cheeses
  • Catsmo Co.: Smoked Salmon
  • Heather Ridge Farm: Free-range Eggs & Chickens
  • Hobart Market: Nitrate-free Bacon
  • Lenny Bee's: Smoked Trout
  • Nettle Meadow Farm: Goat cheeses
  • Oscar's Smoke House: Cheeses
  • Rock Hill Bakery: Breads and Baked Goods
  • Surprenant's Berry Farm: Jams
  • Walking Clover Farms: Lotions, Perfumes, Salves & Mr. T. Badger Teas and Spices

As a convenience to those who shop at our market we also carry many other organic products that we purchase from food distributors serving the northeast. These products include free-range chickens and eggs, yogurt and milk, many types of grains, cereals, nuts, beans, pasta, spices, coffee and tea as well as a variety of delicious frozen prepared foods.

Please let us know if there are vegetables, herbs or other items that you would like us to sell at the market. We will do our best to accommodate your needs. If we cannot grow it ourselves we will certainly try to add to the varied list of items we purchase from other farms or from organic food distributors. We are happy to add items to our inventory or to special order items for regular customers.
