I shot the pictures that you see here going up to the amphitheater-like base of the falls. From this vantage, you see the water as it first tumbles down from the heights of the falls, crashing on one ledge then another, and broadening before it reaches you about 200 feet below. The atmosphere around rushing water teems with sound and moisture, and is subtly mesmerizing in affect. You notice a feeling of, not light-headedness, but gentle calm.
