Shoot from the HipReady to take that further step into the entertainment industry? Want to use your talent to create something meaningful and lasting? If you haven't already been to film school and you're ready to jump into a film immersion course, read on. A Filmmaking Program in Two Parts: New York City and the Catskills Fashioned to provide artists and actors with the skills necessary to create their own motion pictures, Shoot from the Hip is a filmmaking intensive that comes with a unique result. Through the application of improvisation in a highly structured ensemble format, students will create and star in a PART 1: NEW YORK CITY Led by improvisation legend Armando Diaz, participants will collaborate to develop layered characters whose unique points of view will generate the entire story for the film. Students will then get familiar with editing software Final Cut Pro in two instructional seminars at New York City's SoHo Apple Store. PART 2: ADVENTURE IN THE CATSKILLS After drafting story treatments in New York City, students and expert film faculty alike will head up to the Catskill Mountain Foundation's Sugar Maples Center for Creative Arts, where magic will be made. Hosted by the Catskill Mountain Foundation, participants will be live on location, with access to all that the Sugar Maples Campus has to offer.
