The Catskill Mountain Foundation has extensive and affordable facilities for artistic residencies, corporate retreats, and private events in a spectacular natural setting only two hours from metropolitan New York. The Foundation’s facilities are located on the inspiringly beautiful Greene County mountain top and surrounded by the NY State Catskill Park, with its great natural beauty and numerous public hiking trails.

These affordable facilities, which were developed for use by corporations, private groups, artists and arts groups, include housing for up to 80 people, and dedicated space for meetings, performances, rehearsals, studio arts, exhibition and film screenings. Our fourteen room Sherwood House Hotel is situated near both the Windham and Hunter Mountain ski areas and is an ideal choice for groups looking for first class budget accommodations near the slopes.

Creating world class arts facilities in the northern high peak region of the Catskill Mountains and bringing world class artists and arts groups to use them is a vital part of the CMF’s mission to turn its area of the Catskill Mountains into an international arts destination. The Foundation’s diverse and rich arts programming creates an exceptional environment for retreats held by arts organizations, corporations, and private groups. It has already hosted a number of prominent arts groups, including Jacques d'Amboise’ National Dance Institute, the Amati Music Festival, the Hudson River School for Landscape painting, and the Orchard Project theater consortium, as well as a number of corporate retreats and numerous private events and celebrations.
