Sugar Maples
The Sugar Maples Center for Creative Arts is located on the site of the former Sugar Maples Resort in the scenic hamlet of Maplecrest. The 80 acre property includes over 20 buildings, a number of them newly renovated studio arts spaces that are ideally suited for special events at corporate or private retreats - The painting building comprises a large painting studio and a separate lecture hall that can accommodate audiences of over 100.
- The ceramics studio is a large two story building with almost 3,000 square feet of work space, and is fully equipped with fourteen electric pottery wheels, a gas and an electric kiln, and a slab roller.
- The fiber arts building features extensive weaving equipment, including looms, spinning wheels and warping boards, in a spacious, beautifully designed open environment of over 2,000 square feet.
- The Podell Library and art collection includes an extensive collection of books and 150 pieces of indigenous art work and artifacts collected from around the world.
- A 4 ½ acre Natural Agriculture (organic) farm that is available for private tours as well as educational programs in its new visitors’ center.
