Informal Dinners to Grand Celebrations!

Join us for cooking classes with Elka Park's Top Chef, Bernie Pittman, a classically trained Certified Clulinary Instructor. Classes will be held at the CMF's state-of-the-art kitchen -- a perfect setting for creating scrumptious meals. Bernie will design weekly menus with a modern take on superb, classic cooking using local farm fresh ingredients. You will learn how to navigate cooking and gracious entertaining like a pro. The afternoon will culminate in a family-syle seated dinner where you can savor the afternoon's efforts in a fun and engaging atmosphere. Wines will be paired to compliment the meal. Bring your friends!

About the Chef

Bernie Pittman comes from Tennessee and came to New York in 1990 to attend the Culinary Institute. He lived in New York City for a period and apprenticed at the China Grill. Upon graduation he worked for the Four Seasons Restaurant, which led to an opportunity to work in Switzerland. He worked in Zurich for 18 months before returning to New York City. Bernie has worked for some of Manhattan's top restaurants including Union Square Cafe, Patroon, Raouls and Capsouto Freres. He recently took on the venture of Chef at Elka Park where he discovered his passion for private lessons and where his primary focus is always on the best cuisine possible.

Bernie is skilled in many cuisine styles ranging from French to German, American, Southern Creole, Alsatian, Mediterranean, Italian and Asian.
