EVENTS

Piano Performance Museum Festival

This inaugural year of the Piano Performance Museum Festival is celebrated with a dazzling array of programs, from Baroque to Jazz, performed by renowned musicians using historical playable pianos from the Steven E. Greenstein Collection. Our Festival offers interaction with aspiring young musicians from around the world in musical residency festivals led by inspiring teachers. In newly-developed partnerships with local schools, music will enliven our community in bold new ways. Drawing upon the Museum's collections of pianos, related ephemera and memorabilia, collaborative, multi-disciplinary programs in dance, literature, film, and the history of the Catskills, are designed to highlight and inspire.

Our collections, facilities, and mountaintop setting offer an unparalleled opportunity to new paths in arts awareness. Join us and discover!

The Piano Performance Museum is an unparalleled hands-on resource for the rediscovery of the piano in music and cultural history, with a special emphasis on its American tradition. The current exhibition features more than 20 historic pianos, many in playable condition, ranging from the days of Mozart to the recently-acquired Baldwin Concert Grand which belonged to Liberace.

The Piano Performance Museum is funded in part by the Jarvis and Constance Doctorow Family Foundation.
