Featuring Melissa Holland, The Catskills' Funny Girl

Melissa, Holland, singer/songwriter, keyboardist and classical flautist, is the Catskills' own "Funny Girl." Her songs tell stories that often leave you holding your sides with laughter. When you can catch your breath, you realize she has snuck in a message of personal growth. Stylistically, she has been compared to Carole King and Laura Nyro, with a voice reminiscent of Joni Mitchell and Judy Collins.

Classically trained, she has performed with members of the New York Philharmonic and was principal flautist with the Bronx Symphony Orchestra. She has performed with Pete Seeger, David Roth, Penny Nichols and Rex Fowler. She was a member of "Holland, Thompson, and Tooch," and is currently on tour with her one-woman show, "I'm Not Bitter." Her solo CD, "Moving Away," will be on sale at the concert.
