Mystery Writing Workshopwith Alison GaylinDate: Saturday, April 28, 1:00 - 3:00 pm
There's no mystery about it. If you love the mystery genre and think you even might like to write one, you'll come to the Village Square Literary Center and Bookstore, located in Hunter Village Square, Rte. 23A. Hunter Village, on Saturday, April 28, at 1 pm when critically acclaimed mystery writer Alison Gaylin will read briefly from her new book, and she was, and conduct a free writing workshop for those who wish to write mysteries themselves. Alison Gaylin's debut book, Hide Your Eyes, was nominated for an Edgar Award in the Best First Novel category. Her critically acclaimed suspense novels have been published in such countries as the UK, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Norway and Japan. Her new book, and she was, came out in February 2012 from Harper Collins -- the first in a new series featuring Brenna Spector, a private investigator blessed (and cursed) with perfect autobiographical memory. Perry O'Shaughnessy has called Gaylin, "a fresh new talent." Lisa Gardner has declared that Gaylin's books "will blow your mind." And Lee Child has called and she was, "The perfect storm; a serious talent hits on a great idea and sparks a wonderful new character we'll follow anywhere. One of my favorite writers raises the bar--again." Finally, we agree with Harlan Coben, who said of Alison Gaylin's mysteries, "Label me a big fan."
