Poetry Writing Workshopwith Carolyn BennettDate: Saturdays, January 3, 10, 24 and 31 at 2:30pm Writer Carolyn Bennett will come out of hibernation long enough to facilitate four one-hour poetry writing workshops. For teens and adults. You needn't have written poetry before this workshop series in order to attend. Carolyn will offer examples of successful list poems; Skeltonic verse; translations from languages we do not read; and villanelles. We will then be instructed in how to construct our own poems using these models. It's fun, easy and a chance to express yourself. Carolyn is the author of a collection of stories, "A Thing Among Things," and two books of poetry, "The Everyday Way" and "Looking for Cold Mountain." She studied fiction with Joseph Heller, Susan Sontag, and Donald Barthelme and poetry with Mark Strand. She has taught creative writing in numerous schools, libraries, senior centers, and prisons in New York State and as an adjunct professor at Columbia-Greene Community College.
