Poet Dennis Lucas & Friends will read from their work. Dennis Lucas received a B.A. in English from Brooklyn College in 1991. He began writing poetry and prose while in high school. He has had four chapbooks published since then: Short Stories Some Shorter Than Others (Gull Books, 1987) Haiku For Harry (Gull Books, 1989) Rodeo Harpsichord (Outloud Books,1991) and Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Crow (Left Hand Book, 1992). Left Hand books published his first full-length book, Poetic License, in 1996. Since 1986, Mr. Lucas has been giving readings from his work at colleges, libraries and landfills. He resides in Hunter, New York and spends much of his free time chain smoking cigarettes and staring at the walls.
