Exploring Postmodern Writing
Date: Saturdays, 21, 28 at 2:30pm Location: Village Square Bookstore & Literary Arts Center, Rte 23A, Main St., Village of Hunter, NY Information: 518 263 2050 Free admission
What does it mean to be postmodern? Many avid readers collide with a mental roadblock when trying to read a "postmodern" short story or novel. Together we'll discover the "keys" to postmodern literature and unlock the meaning of these misunderstood works. Sound too "heady?" It won't be. Led by Bookstore Manager Carolyn Bennett, we'll examine the works of Thomas Pynchon, Donald Barthelme, Jonathan Safron Foer, and others. We may even do a little short story writing of our own.
