La Forza del Destino is based on a Spanish drama. A young South American nobleman living in Sevilla, falls in love with a woman whose father he has accidentally killed. Tragedy pursues the young lovers. This production is conducted by Zubin Mehta and designed by Ezio Frigerio. Violeta Urmana and Marcello Giordani give stunning performances in the roles of Donna Leonora and Don Alvaro, portraying the tragic love story between the two characters with the utmost vehemence.
