The next in our continuing series of informal gatherings called “Art Talk” is a discussion by Dr. Robert Lipgar, award-winning photographer, on Saturday, July 3rd from 2:00-3:00 pm at the Kaaterskill Fine Arts Gallery in Hunter.  Dr. Lipgar will discuss his photographic techniques and the compilation of his latest book, Everyday Signs of Life. 

Robert Lipgar learned photography working with his father, A.H. Lipgar, who was for many decades a leading photographer in the Hudson Valley.   After earning a doctorate in clinical and group psychology at the University of Chicago, he spent many years as a psychologist and photographer in Chicago.  He came “home again” to the Mid-Hudson Valley where he now concentrates on photography, exhibiting widely and composing several picture books. He is a member of the Greene County Camera Club and an active member of the Woodstock Artists Association & Museum (WAAM), receiving WAAM’s Leilani Claire Award for Photography in 2006.
