A native of Argentina, Pablo Ziegler played for ten years in nuevo tango master Astor Piazzolla's final quintet. Ziegler is now recognized as the world's leading proponent today of "nuevo tango," which blends traditional tango with jazz and classical music influences. The new tango style is now played by groups around the world and by musicians as varied as famed cellist Yo-Yo Ma.
