Betty Vera

Betty Vera is an adjunct instructor in the Textile Design Department at New York's Fashion Institute of Technology, and previously taught fibers at Montclair State University. She has led intensive workshops at craft schools such as Penland, Peters Valley, and Harrisville Designs; HGA Convergence, MAFA, EGLFC, and Intermountain Weavers Conferences; and numerous guilds around the country. Her work is widely exhibited and collected and has been published in American Craft, Fiberarts, Shuttle Spindle & Dyepot, Surface Design, and Interiors magazines, and the Fiberarts Design Book. She received two New York State Craft Artist Grants from the Empire State Crafts Alliance, and a Ruth Chenven Foundation Award.
