Mountain Top Animal Friends Awarded $1000 Grant
The Windham Chapter is pleased to award a $1000 grant to Mountain Top Animal Friends. A wonderful and locally run organization, MTAF seeks to provide funding for the spaying and neutering of cats and dogs in our community. Spay or neuter surgery carries a one-time cost that is relatively small when one considers its benefits. It's a small price to pay for the health of your pet and the prevention of more unwanted animals. It can help behavior problems and allow pets to live longer and healthier lives. Communities spend much money to control unwanted animals, and animal shelters statewide are overburdened with surplus animals. Stray pets and homeless animals get into trash containers, defecate in public areas or on private lawns, and frighten or anger people who have no understanding of their misery or needs. Some stray animals also scare away or kill birds and wildlife. For more information about how you can help Mountain Top Animal Friends, contact Marlene Burgess at 518-734-4374.
The Windham Chapter of the Catskill Mountain Foundation is a division of the Catskill Mountain Foundation and a 501(c)3 not-for profit organization. The Windham Chapter is governed by a Board of Directors, which serves on a non-paid volunteer basis. For more information, please visit www.windhamchapter.com or call 518-734-9636.
