Evening of Operetta Features Some of World’s Most Beautiful MusicJuly 22, 2002 Hunter, NY Last year, Theater Ten Ten, brought the house down in the Music in the Village Series at the Catskill Mountain Foundation with, "A Summer’s Afternoon with Gilbert and Sullivan." This summer, Theater Ten Ten returns with "An Evening of Operetta", an original musical revue featuring the lilting melodies of composers such as, Franz Lehar, Victor Herbert, Jacques Offenbach, and Johann Strauss. Come and swoon to some of the most beautiful songs ever written, sung by some of the most talented singers in the business. This is sure to be a magical evening. The performance is taking place on Saturday night, July 27th at 8:00pm at the Catskill Mountain Foundation Movie Theatre, located on Rte. 23A in the village of Hunter. Reservations are recommended and may be made by calling 518/263-4908 ext. 202 (Mon.-Fri.) and 518/263-5157 (Sat., Sun.) Tickets are $12/$10 for seniors and students.Theater Ten Ten: Located at 1010 Park Avenue at 85th Street in New York City, Theater Ten Ten is the longest consecutively operating Equity Off Broadway Theater Company in NYC. Now celebrating its 46th Season, Theater Ten Ten is dedicated to producing quality theater at affordable prices, utilizing the talents of established professionals, and fostering young artists as they emerge into the theatrical mainstream. The company is known for its innovative conceptual productions of classics and for reviving forgotten musicals, as well as producing new works. Judith Jarosz, Producing Artistic Director of Theater Ten Ten begins her eighth season leading Theater Ten Ten. During that time, "Crunching Numbers," "Innocent Diversions" and "Northhanger Abby" have moved on to subsequent productions. Crunching Numbers has been published in "Plays and Playwrights for the New Millennium". In 1997, Judith produced the first NYC revival of "Hollywood Pinafore" (music, Sir Arthur Sullivan; book, lyrics revised by George S. Kaufman) which was subsequently finally published (Dramatists Play Service) as a result of that production. Theater Ten Ten’s Spring 2000 Production of "Berlin to Broadway with Kurt Weill" was the show’s first NYC revival and won an OOBR, an Off Off Broadway Review, award in June 2000, before moving to an Off Broadway run at the Triad. In the spring of 2001, Judith produced, wrote and directed "An Evening With Gilbert and Sullivan," which after a successful run at Ten Ten, performed at the Catskill Mountain Foundation’s, "Music in the Village Series.
